Refund and Access Rules

How long access lasts, what ending a subscription does and does not do, and the narrow circumstances in which a charge can be reversed.

Effective 2026-10-25

1. What you are buying

You are buying access to information on this website. You are not buying a hospital appointment, a consultation, a translation, a document, or any service performed by a person on your behalf.

That distinction is the reason the refund rules below are narrow, and it is stated here rather than buried: once a profile or a comparison report has been opened, the value has already been delivered, and there is no way to un-read it.

2. How long access lasts

  1. A monthly or annual plan runs until you cancel it, and cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end access on the spot — you keep it until the end of the period you already paid for.
  2. A one-time purchase of a specific profile or report does not expire. We may correct or withdraw content, but a purchased item stays yours to read.
  3. Access is per account. It is not transferable to another person or another account.

3. Cancelling

You can cancel a subscription from the billing page on this site at any time, and there is a link to the payment provider’s own portal there as well. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current period unless you ask for it to end immediately.

We do not make cancellation harder than buying. There is no retention call and no cancellation maze.

4. When a subscription ends

  1. Access to subscription-only material stops at the end of the paid period.
  2. Anything you bought permanently is not affected. Losing a subscription does not take away a profile or report you already paid for once.
  3. Your saved hospitals, research projects and purchase history remain in your account and can be exported before you close the account.
  4. If a renewal payment fails, we will try again and will tell you if it fails, rather than silently cancelling.

5. When a charge can be reversed

We refund in these cases, and only these:

  1. Duplicate charge. You were charged twice for the same thing. Refunded in full.
  2. Charged for something you did not get. A plan or a purchase that never activated on your account, or an automated report that failed to generate and was not delivered. Refunded in full.
  3. Charged in error for something not offered. Refunded in full.
  4. Changed your mind before using it. Within
  5. a cooling-off window, whose length has not yet been decided by the operator. Until it is, no change-of-mind refund is offered
  6. .

What is not refundable: a subscription you have used for most of its period; a report you opened, even if it did not change your decision; a profile you read. That is the same information you could have read free elsewhere on the site, and it does not come back.

6. If an automated report cannot be generated

Some products generate a comparison report automatically from the data we hold. If generation fails, you will see a clear failure message rather than an empty report, and:

  1. You are not charged for a report that was never produced.
  2. You can retry, or ask us to run it again. We will not keep your money against a delivery that did not happen.
  3. A report that generates successfully is a research document assembled from our own records. It is not a clinical assessment and it does not rank hospitals by medical quality.

7. If something goes wrong with a payment

Contact billing@chinamedbase.com with the date, the amount and the last four characters of the card if you use them. We will not ask for a full card number. Most payment disputes are a duplicate charge or a failed renewal that the provider reported late, and both are resolved within a few days.

English is the controlling version. Where any other language of this site describes the same subject, it is a convenience translation and does not change what this document means.
