The hospital's own page says the pain department (疼痛科) was built from 2006 and runs four wards — at the Qingchun, Qiantang, Grand Canal and Shaoxing campuses — with more than 40 approved beds. It says the hospital set up the Sino-US Pain Medicine Centre together with Stanford University Medical Center, and has led the drafting of several Chinese expert consensus statements on low intracranial pressure disease. It also records a multidisciplinary clinic for refractory pain, staffed jointly by associate-senior-or-above physicians from the pain, orthopaedic, and acupuncture and tuina departments.

The hospital's own pain department page (疼痛科), read on 21 October 2026, said the department now consists of the main campus pain department and the pain centre of the Sichuan provincial mental health centre, with 61 beds and 9 pain specialists. It said the pain clinic is staffed by 1 chief physician, 2 associate chief physicians and 4 attending physicians, and has a consultation room, an invasive treatment room and a non-invasive treatment room.

The hospital's own department index lists the pain treatment department (疼痛治疗科) separately from the anaesthesiology department. The department's own page carries only an outpatient roster, which lists You Jia (游嘉) as seeing patients on Wednesday mornings, with no description of the department's work on it.

The hospital's own page says the pain department (疼痛科) has 1 chief physician, 4 associate chief physicians, 7 attending physicians, 4 resident physicians, 8 senior nurses and 8 nurses, with 46 beds, more than 20,000 outpatient visits a year and more than 2,000 interventional procedures a year. It says the department was among the first to carry out high-voltage long-duration bipolar pulsed radiofrequency and short-duration spinal cord stimulation for postherpetic neuralgia.

The hospital's own page for the Sanxiang Road campus says the discipline of anaesthesiology covers three subspecialties — clinical anaesthesia, the intensive care unit for anaesthesia, and the pain department — with 48 staff on the establishment, of whom 3 are chief physicians, 20 associate chief physicians and 3 anaesthesia nurses, and it lists a separate pain department at the hospital's Huguan campus.

The hospital's own page says the pain department (疼痛科) was founded in December 1999, initially as a subspecialty of anaesthesiology, and became the pain department of one of the first neuropathic pain treatment centres to be designated in Beijing in 2015. It says the department covers the main, Changying and Shijingshan campuses, with 5 pain clinics, 3 pain treatment rooms and 16 pain beds, and that it separates the day-case ward from the inpatient ward so that surgery of different grades is looked after separately.
