The hospital's own page says the mental health department (精神卫生科) is a comprehensive department bringing clinical care, medical research, clinical teaching and a national standardised-training base for resident doctors together. It says the department opened a psychiatric specialty outpatient clinic in November 1997 and set up 15 beds for psychosomatic illness, that the department itself was established in 2011, and that it has 42 specialist doctors, psychotherapists and assessment specialists and medical researchers, of whom 21 hold doctorates and 15 hold master's degrees, with 3 doctoral and 4 master's supervisors. It says the discipline is a doctoral and master's degree granting point in psychiatry and mental health at Zhejiang University, the unit responsible for teaching international students, and the Zhejiang provincial branch of a national clinical medical centre.

The hospital's own department index lists this unit as the psychosomatic medicine centre and the Sichuan provincial mental health centre (心身医学中心/四川省精神医学中心), and links to that centre's own site. That site lists its outpatient clinics by campus, including psychological counselling, rapid antidepressant treatment, mindfulness stress relief, psychosomatic medicine, neuropsychology, and adolescent psychological development consultation. The footer says the site belongs to the Sichuan Academy of Medical Sciences and Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital (Sichuan Mental Health Centre).

It says the department has psychological CT for psychometric assessment and runs physical treatment including transcranial magnetic stimulation and biofeedback.
