The hospital's own page says its pharmacy department (药剂科) is a first-class discipline in Shanghai: in 2016 it ranked first in the first batch of key clinical specialties in clinical pharmacy awarded by the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, and with a marked advantage was selected for the city's "Take-off Programme" and for a joint project on weak disciplines (clinical pharmacy). The page says the department hosts the Shanghai clinical pharmacy administration quality-control centre and the Shanghai clinical adverse drug reaction monitoring centre, has repeatedly been named an outstanding unit for Shanghai clinical pharmacy quality control and for national adverse reaction monitoring, and in 2023 was selected among the first batch of national pilot units for the ward-based pharmacist working model and for training scarce clinical pharmacist talent. It says the drug supply section comprises 3 drug stores, 27 pharmacies, 1 preparation room, 1 drug testing room and 3 centralised intravenous drug admixture centres, and that the department has built a pharmacogenomics testing room and a therapeutic drug monitoring room carrying out more than 40 pharmacogenomics (PGx) and therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) items, which serve about 4,000 patient visits a year.
